For too long, the LGBTQIA+ community has been pushed to the margins of faith and spirituality. Hatred has been preached from pulpits, while love and acceptance have been scorned. This Easter, it’s time for a change.
The Cosmopolitan Affirming Church was founded on the revolutionary belief that God’s love is for everyone—gay, straight, transgender, nonbinary, and all. We are proud to launch our #AriseYouQueers #QueerPasaka Digital Campaign, a celebration of queer spirituality and a call for LGBTQIA+ people everywhere to reclaim their place in faith communities.
This Easter, we declare that LGBTQIA+ people are beautifully and wonderfully created by the Divine. We deserve to experience the profound joy, hope, and love that the Easter season represents. No longer will we allow ourselves to be outcasts in our own faith traditions.
With #AriseYouQueers and #QueerPasaka, we are building our community to:
- Affirm LGBTQIA+ spiritual identity and expression
- Provide a platform to share uplifting messages of self-worth
- Stand in joyful solidarity with our queer siblings around the world
- Proclaim that our faith and our queerness are sacred gifts to be celebrated
